Privacy Policy

2lazy2read turns selected text into listenable audio. This policy explains what information we process, why we process it, and how deletion works.

1. Information we collect

We collect account information needed to provide the service, such as your name, email address, password credential, session data, subscription status, usage records, and app settings. When you ask 2lazy2read to generate audio, the selected text and related request details are processed to create the audio you requested.

2. How selected text is processed

2lazy2read does not monitor your screen continuously, record your screen, or collect text in the background. The app processes only text you select. Selected text is sent for processing only when you press the configured hotkey or action button. That selected text may be sent to AI and text-to-speech systems to prepare listenable audio or a summary you requested.

3. Your content

Your selected text, generated audio, and history belong to you. We do not sell your content. We do not use your selected text, generated audio, files, documents, or history to train our own AI models. Content is processed only to provide the read-aloud, summary, account, usage, support, security, and billing features you use.

4. Storage and deletion

History and generated audio may be stored so you can access, replay, or manage your saved audio. If you delete a history item or saved audio item, the related app record and stored audio file are deleted from our active cloud storage. If you delete your account, your account profile, sign-in credentials, sessions, user-owned history records, and user-owned stored audio are deleted from active systems immediately after confirmation.

5. Service providers

We use Cloudflare for backend and hosting services. We use Lemon Squeezy for payments, subscriptions, billing, tax handling, invoices, and related customer billing support. If you contact us at support@2lazy2read.com, we process your email address, message, and related support details so we can respond. We keep internal usage records needed to operate the app, enforce plan limits, prevent abuse, and improve reliability. We do not currently use a third-party analytics provider for website or app tracking.

Service providers process information only as needed to operate 2lazy2read and are not permitted by us to use your selected text, generated audio, or saved history for their own advertising.

6. Security and retention

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect account data and user-owned content. We keep personal information only as long as needed to provide the service, maintain security, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, comply with law, or meet tax and accounting requirements.

7. Your choices

You can delete individual history items and saved audio from the app. You can delete your account from Settings > Account > Delete account in the desktop app. Some limited records, such as payment records, security logs, fraud-prevention records, or records required by law, may be retained only for the required purpose and period.

8. Children

2lazy2read is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
